My name is Christina Griffith, and I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. I believe in the power of self-expression and self-confidence. My mission is to inspire and empower others to embrace their individuality and live their best lives. Through my blog, I aim to provide valuable insights, tips, and inspiration to help you look and feel your best.
Here's my story....
Growing up I was the skinny girl, the "bean pole" as I was referred to. I was a tomboy with very little curves and very low self-esteem. I was told things like "dang girl you need to eat a cheeseburger!", "Christina have you lost more weight?", "you don't need to lose any more weight", "it's not fair you're so skinny", or "I wish I could give you some of my weight". For years these comments broke me down mentally. I was ashamed of my body and wore baggy clothes to hide what I felt was a puny, malnourished frame. When I graduated high school in 2005, my weight was 98 pounds. After high school I really began to struggle with anxiety and depression and started having health issues. I even dropped classes in college because of these issues. In 2007 at 20 years old I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. That was the turning point and the to kickstart my health and fitness journey.
I am a Mama of three wild boys. My first son was born in February of 2014. After struggles with miscarriages, my second son was born in March of 2019, and my third son was born just fifteen short months later in June of 2020. My second pregnancy was the toughest. I began having pains in my upper right abdomen. At the time it was attributed to the pregnancy. My weight peaked at 150 pounds in my last pregnancy, but that didn't last long. In May of 2021, the pains in my upper right abdomen began to get worse, along with headaches and nausea, lots of trips to the bathroom, and the weight from the pregnancies melted off. I was diagnosed with a liver disease called PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis), attributed to years of wear on my bile ducts from Crohn's.
I am fortunate to not have had any surgeries so far, but I have had my fair share of scans, bloodwork, colonoscopies, medications, and the daily struggles of living with autoimmune issues. Today my weight fluctuates around 115 pounds. I am how God made me. I have worked hard over the years to combat my health issues with healthy eating and building muscle, and at 37 years old and three babies later, I am proud of my body, and I feel better than I have ever felt!
I want to encourage each and every one of you to make something out of how you're made......the way God made you! I hope my blog will give you that inspiration and drive to live your life in confidence. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Be fit, be well, and be happy.
With love,
Christina
